The more correct question is probably:
“What learning environment do we need?”
Because a special learning platform is not absolutely necessary: Modern blended learning means combining different technologies, tasks and resources. And in different settings: at work, in an offsite workshop, alone at home or with a practice group.
What is important for motivation and sustainability is the opportunity for learners to help shape the programme. This does not mean the same, predetermined sequence for everyone, but space for exploration, exchange and personal input!
There must also be enough time with others for discussion and feedback. Without this, there is a lack of motivation to keep going, especially when things get difficult.
It’s not the platform, but the learning environment that matters!
The right learning platform simply creates a better “learning environment” for such blended learning:
This can be an LMS like Doodle, an in-house learning platform, LearningStone, or apps like Teams, Slack and OneNote.
The learning platform should be selected according to what best suits the company’s culture and tool landscape!
